Symptoms

The Alerts view in the adTempus Console shows error message 5313:

A database error occurred while processing a database command. This may indicate a database problem or software problem. Please contact technical support for assistance and provide the server diagnostic logs as described in help topic ADT005054. Database error: An exception was caught during the execution of an action query: Violation of UNIQUE KEY constraint 'UQ_NotificationRecipientName'. Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'dbo.NotificationRecipient'. The duplicate key value is (Recipient Name).

Additionally, adTempus may fail to update the status of one or more jobs to report trigger failures.

Cause

This error is caused during a database save operation when adTempus erroneously tries to save an existing Notification Recipient as if it were new. This may happen even though there are no notification recipients associated with the affected job(s).
