Symptoms

The adTempus Console crashes (fails) when starting, giving the following error message:

There was an error deserializing the object of type ADTConsole.Console.Settings. The data at the root level is invalid.

Cause

This problem happens if the Console configuration file has been corrupted.

Workaround

In Windows File Explorer, navigate to "%AppData%\Arcana Development\adTempus" and delete the "console4.config" file. You will lose your saved server connections and other Console settings, but job configuration, history, etc., will not be affected.
