Symptoms

If you create additional instances of adTempus on a computer, you cannot use the Engine Mode tool to change the Engine Mode for the instance (i.e., to configure it to run as a Master or Agent).

Cause

Due to an oversight, the Engine Mode tool was not updated to support multiple instances.

Workaround

The Engine Mode can be set in the Registry without using the Engine Mode tool. Run the Registry Editor and go to the following key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Arcana Development\adTempus\Instances\Instance Name\Options

replacing "Instance Name" with the name of your instance. Create the necessary keys if they are not present.

Under this key create a DWORD value named "EngineMode" and set it to one of the following values:

• 0: Standalone
• 1: Master
• 2: Agent + Standalone
• 3: Agent Only

Restart the adTempus service for the change to take effect.
