Symptoms

When you run a job in adTempus, it fails with the following error:

Login failed for user username: Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer (1385) [ADT000078E]

Cause

This error occurs if the Windows user account used on the job has not been granted the necessary logon privilege on the computer where the adTempus service is running.

adTempus 4

For adTempus 4, the user must have the "Allow log on locally" privilege.

adTempus 5 and Later

Beginning with adTempus 5, the user must have one of the following privileges: "Allow log on locally," "Log on as a batch job," or "Log on as a service."

Resolution

Grant the "Allow log on locally" privilege to the account that is being used for the job:

  1. On the Windows Start menu, select Administrative Tools, then Local Security Policy.
  2. In the Local Security Policy tool, navigate to Local Policies / User Rights Assignment.
  3. Open the "Allow log on locally" policy and make sure the user account being used for the job is listed here, or is included in a group that is listed here.
  4. Open the "Deny log on locally" policy and make sure the user account being used for the job is not listed here, and is not included in any groups that are listed here.
