Symptoms

A step fails to execute. In the Job Log, adTempus reports error 152 with the following message:

The program could not be started: The parameter is incorrect (87).

Cause

This problem has been observed to occur when both of the following are true:

  • The step uses the "Capture Console" Window Mode, and
  • The job uses the "User's Session" User Interaction setting or you are running the job manually (on demand) and checking the Make the job visible on my desktop option.

Workaround

If the job uses the "User's Session" User Interaction option, change the User Interaction settings to not include the "User's Session" option. For example, if the setting is "User's Session, Console, Hidden", change it to "Console, Hidden". The User Interaction setting can be found on the General page of the job's properties.

If you are running the job manually, uncheck the Make the job visible on my desktop option.

More Information

If none of the programs run by your job display windows or other output that you need to be able to see as the job runs, you should set the User Interaction to "Hidden". See article K00000294 for more information on the User Interaction settings.
