Symptoms

When the Update Center starts, the following Internet Explorer message appears:

Content within this application coming from the Web site listed below is being blocked by Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration.

about:security_ADUpdateAgent.exe

Cause

This error occurs when Internet Explorer Enhanced Security is enabled for the computer. The Update Center uses Internet Explorer to display HTML-formatted update messages.

Workaround

To resolve this issue, add the Update Center to the Trusted sites for Internet Explorer:

1. In the error dialog box, click the Add button.
2. In the Trusted Sites window that appears, click the Add button to add "about:security_ADUpdateAgent.exe" to the trusted zone.
3. Click Close.

The Update Center will now display correctly.

This issue was corrected in a maintenance update released on April 8, 2008. See article K00000291 for information about obtaining this update.
