Summary

When you try to generate a report in the adTempus Console, a dialog box is displayed containing the error

Error in file <REPORT name>: Page header or footer longer than a page

This problem occurs if no printer, or no default printer, is defined for the computer on which you are running the Console.

Alternatively, you may receive a message box with the error message "An unexpected error has occurred." If you double-click this error message, additional information will be displayed, similar to the following:

Workaround

You must define a printer and set it as the default, then restart the Console.

It does not matter whether the printer configured for the computer is valid or usable (unless you really plan to print); it just needs to be defined.

If your computer is not connected to a printer, go through the Printer Configuration Wizard and select the "Generic" printer manufacturer, and the generic text-only printer driver.
