Summary

The Scheduler reports that it could not start a scheduled program. In the Event Log the Scheduler records an error similar to the following:

Cannot logon user : Error message not found for error code 1314

or

Cannot logon user : A required privilege is not held by the client

This error can occur if you have changed to Scheduler to run under a user account instead of the Local System account.

When it is installed, the Arcana Scheduler service is configured to run under the Local System account. It is possible (through the Services applet in the Control Panel) to reconfigure the Scheduler to run under a user account instead.

In order for the Scheduler to function correctly, it must be running under the Local System account.

Scheduled programs can still be run under a user account. This is done by changing the Owner on the General page of the Program Properties dialog box when setting up your program within the Scheduler.
