I am using adTempus 4.7. Recently I had a job in which one of the steps was to compress a group of files. One of the files to compress was over 4 GB in size and the compression step was failing with an error that indicated that it was unable to compress a file that is over 4 GB in size. Can the File Compression task be updated so that it can compress files that are over 4 GB in size?

This is a limitation of the classic ZIP format that is currently the only compression option implemented for this task. We do plan to add support for other formats (zipx, 7-zip), probably for version 5 later this year.

Is this enhancement still planned for this year or has it be pushed to 2022?
Accepted Answer
This is now planned for the first half of 2022.

I have realized that my original answer on this was wrong and support for larger files is not dependent on the other changes we have planned. It can be supported in the existing version with a minor change on our part. Please open a support case and we can get you a hotfix to support this. Otherwise it will be in the next 4.x release as well as the 5.0 release.
