adTempus 5.0.2 slowness - Community

Hi,

I have adTempus 5.0.2 console installed.I have a few adTempus 4.6 servers. In addition to a newer adTempus 5.0.4 Navigating and using any of the adTempus 4.6 servers is very normal. The ease of clicking on a group folder displays results in a snap of a second. Likewise, when opening a job for edit, or viewing a Job History instance.

However, when trying anything with the the adTempus 5.0.4 server, everything lags. Opening group folders, job entries, job history instances.

The interesting thing is other users notices the slowness when trying to work with the adTempus 5.0.4 server as well.

How do I resolve this?

Hi, Ken. We don't have any other reports of performance issues like this. Are you running the Console on the same computer as the adTempus server? If not, try that and see if there is still a problem (see if the network is part of the problem).

Is the adTempus service (adtempusservice.exe) continuously using a large percentage of CPU time (check Task manager)? Does CPU usage spike when you do things in the Console?

Are you using SQL Server Express or a standalone database server? If standalone, is it the same server you're using for 4.6 (see if database server performance is the problem).

Beyond that, this will require more troubleshooting than we can do in the forum. Please open a support case so we can look into this further.
