Hello,

While installing adTempus, I got an initial error: Error: Unrecognized parameter: "installer".  My only option was to press close, and the installer finished.

Upon running adTempus, I get "Message Number: ADT000039IMessage: The adTempus service installed on this computer but is not running. To adTempus on this computer, you must start the adTempus service using the Services tool in the Windows Control Panel. If the service fails to start, see www.arcanadev.com/go/2004 for troubleshooting information.****************************************".

Per the website, the log file shows:

2016-04-07 14:50:56,386 [1] INFO  adtdbconfig.main [(null)] - Starting. Version: 4.3.0.02016-04-07 14:50:56,433 [1] INFO  adtdbconfig.main [(null)] - Running from C:\Program Files\Arcana Development\adTempus\4.0\adtdbconfig.exe2016-04-07 14:50:56,730 [1] INFO  adtdbconfig.DatabaseConverter [(null)] - Registry key: Software\Arcana Development\adTempus\instances\Default2016-04-07 14:50:56,736 [1] INFO  adtdbconfig.DatabaseConverter [(null)] - Default database name: adtempus_ML_ISVM0012016-04-07 14:50:56,745 [1] INFO  adtdbconfig.DatabaseConverter [(null)] - Data root directory: C:\Program Files\Arcana Development\adTempus\Instances\default\data2016-04-07 14:50:56,745 [1] INFO  adtdbconfig.DatabaseConverter [(null)] - Database script directory: C:\Program Files\Arcana Development\adTempus\4.0\dbscripts2016-04-07 14:50:56,752 [1] INFO  adtdbconfig.SQLExpressInstaller [(null)] - Loading2016-04-07 14:50:56,753 [1] INFO  adtdbconfig.SQLExpressInstaller [(null)] - Defaulting installer to C:\Program Files\Arcana Development\adTempus\4.02016-04-07 14:50:56,753 [1] INFO  adtdbconfig.SQLExpressInstaller [(null)] - No adTempus SQL Server registry key found

Thus, manually starting the adTemput service immediately stops.

Sorry for the difficulty. I thought I posted a message earlier letting you know we were looking into the problem but it disappeared somewhere. Anyway, we've identified the problem and put out new installers to correct this problem.

Please see this article and follow the workaround to rerun the Database Configuration Wizard. You don't need to download the new installer unless you've uninstalled the software after getting the error.

I deleted the temp folders as there was no error.  I attempted to repair and get the same initial install error.  Should I uninstall via programs and then re-install?

You do not need to uninstall. Rerun the setup package to extract the setup files again--you need the SQL Server Express installer that is included in the package, but don't need to run the installer, because the database configuration actually happens independently of the installer.

After the files get extracted, uncheck "Run Setup now" and click Next. It may still try to run the installer; if so click Cancel. You should now be back to the screen that asks if you want to remove the setup files. Uncheck that box and click Next. You can now continue from step 4 in the article.
