On October 1, 2022, Microsoft will disable support for basic authentication (user ID/password) for POP3 and IMAP access to Microsoft Exchange Online, and will require OAuth2 authentication instead.

If you are using adTempus to retrieve mail from a Microsoft Exchange Online account, this change affects you, as adTempus versions prior to 4.9 do not support OAuth2 authentication. You will need to upgrade to adTempus 4.9 or to the adTempus 5 beta, which support OAuth2 authentication, before October 1.

If you are only using adTempus to send mail, this change does not affect you, as Exchange Online will continue to support basic authentication for SMTP.

If you are not able to complete this adTempus upgrade prior to October 1, Microsoft has announced an option to temporarily re-enable basic authentication until December 31.
