Summary

Arcana Development has recently seen an increase in the number of customers experiencing database corruption issues when using the default Microsoft Access database for adTempus. When the database file becomes corrupted, the adTempus service fails to start, and data must be restored from a backup (see Knowledge Base article K00000243 for more information).

Because of the potential for database corruption, Arcana Development recommends that users who are using the Microsoft Access database switch to a SQL Server or MSDE database (MSDE is the SQL Server Desktop Engine, which is available as part of your adTempus license).

Status

Future versions of adTempus will not support the Microsoft Access database, and will require that all users convert to SQL Server or MSDE.
