I've been seeing the "unknown error (0xC004A80A)" during job creating in adTempus. I've gotten both in creating new jobs from scratch and also when copying a job and modifying it. Please advice.

There was a fix in adTempus 3.0.8 that resolved this problem for most of the users we know about. If you have version 3.0.8 and are still getting the error, please submit a support request so we can look at it.
