The Dynamic Export File Names feature is great.

But here's my problem: I run a monthly report, but it must be run after the month is over.  So what I need is to be able to dynamically add the Previous month, instead of the Current month into the filename.

I can't find any way to do that...

On a related note.  It would also be great if there was some dynamic functionality that could be used with the parameters too.  I can mostly do what I need using a response file.  But it would be better if I could just insert the current or previous month directly into the parameter

There's no way to do this within Report Commander itself.

Report Commander was originally designed as an add-on for adTempus, so we didn't include a lot of macro support of this kind, assuming that whatever dynamic parameters were needed would get generated by adTempus or whatever automation tool was running Report Commander.

However, it's a good (and common) suggestion, and we are planning to address this in version 2, which should be along early next year or so. Probably it will be implemented so that you can extend the macro capability by writing your own in VB.NET or C#.

In the meantime, the only way to do it is to have another script or program calculate the date parameter and then call Report Commander with the right value.
